Logo Design process

Bender Group is a public relations firm located on the East Coast. They needed help with their logo and branding, because they previously none to speak of.

Here’s an example of a process I went through with a client to design their logo.

design process

Initial concepts

In round one, I showed the client a bunch of design options based on their examples and mood board. It helped us quickly figure out the style they were going for.

Initially four designers worked on logo concepts, but the client really liked one of my designs, so I took the lead in finalizing their logo and other branding stuff.

round two

In round two, the client gave feedback on the logos from the first round. I tweaked a few of their favorites and threw in some new ideas they asked to explore.

round three

The client fell in love with a logomark and was also thrilled with the color palette I suggested. They decided they wanted to see the logomark alongside “Bender Group” in a few different type options.

round four

The client was really digging the designs from the previous round but decided they wanted to add ‘Public Relations’ to all the logos for clarity.

I incorporated the tagline with the logos they liked best from the previous round, in both stacked and horizontal versions to ensure it looked great in all situations.

logo finalization

The final logo was selected and all its various iterations (single-color, reversed, stacked) created. I also produced a color palette and chose typefaces to compliment the logo. As their website was in the process of being built, I worked closely with the web design team to implement the color palette and type treatments throughout their website.
